I HAVE ADDED THIS SITE FOR GOLDEN. F. MITCHEL, NATIVE AMERICAN, BORN IN ALABAMA IN 1822. HE WAS MY GGGREAT GRANDFATHER. THE SITE ALSO INCLUDES CREEK AND CHEROKEE INFORMATION INCLUDING:
DECENDANTS OF NANCY WARD
1860 CREEK NATION CENSUS
1835 CHEROKEE EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI
TUCKABATCHA TOWN IN CREEK 1832 CENSUS

Golden Mitchel was my gggreat grandfather. He told the family he was of the Creek indians. he was born in Alabama in 1822. He moved to Calloway county Kentucky about 1838-1839. Via the Tenneessee River. From a location in then Madison County, Alabama- we think. Possibly the section of that county that is now Marshall county Alabama.
Golden F. Mitchel
I don't have much information on Golden before his move to Ky.. Though he went to Ky. about the time of the "Trail of Tears".
He moved to a area named Calloway county Kentucky, on the Tennessee River , just south of Lake Barkley in Kentucky and just west of the "Land Between the Lakes".
There he married:
Sarilda mary Ann Weatherspoon. Daughter of William Weatherspoon and Winifred Strait-Weatherspoon. Sarilda was born in Allen county ,Ky. in 1825.

Above picture is Grady and Iva Hutson. Brother and sister. Mother, Ina Chrisman-Hutson, was the daughter of Malinda Mitchel-Chrisman. Malinda Alice (Lynn) was Goldens daughter.
Grady told he was 1/8th indian. And had numerous stories of him and that ole indian. he had numerous stories about everything he did. He loved to talk.
The picture above was taken in the Smokey Mountains in East Tennessee. Of course they had their picture taken with a native american who ither lived or worked there.

Golden said his people were originally from Texas.
I dont know what that meant exactly. Could have meant his dads people his moms people? I just dont know. if anyone has any information that might help me solve that mystery please e-mail me at rachael@iswt.com. Golden was 100% Native American. So all his people were also.
